This privacy policy aims to inform you (user, you or your), in your capacity as user of the website, more precisely about the type of data we process, the legal basis for such processing and its purposes and the rights you have in that respect.

We process personal data collected via our website and data collected by us from other sources as data controller in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 (GDPR) as well as any complementing or other law or regulation relating to the protection of personal data applicable to us (together the Data Protection Laws).

Personal data is defined by the GDPR as any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person; an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, in particular by reference to an identifier such as name, identification number, location data, online identifier or to one or more factors specific to, for instance, the physical, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person.

The website is hosted on a server located in France operated on our behalf by a third-party hosting provider OVH. Your personal data collected via the website will be hosted on this server but they will not be accessible to the third party hosting provider.

We will collect the email address, the signature block, the content of the email and its potential attachment(s) when we receive a communication by email from a contacting user.

Depending on the type of request or reason for contacting us, we may collect additional information about the contacting user from publicly available sources (such as professional or social online networks), services providers or colleagues to the extent it is relevant to process the request.

b) Membership Applicant

In addition to the personal data directly received from the membership applicant via the website, additional personal data from such membership applicant will be collected by us for the purpose of the management of the membership application process and management of membership services and member accounts, if and when the membership applicant becomes a member. This may include personal data collected or received from colleagues and any other publicly available sources (such as professional or online social networks).

This website doesn’t use cookies for user that visits our website.

We do not request any sensitive personal data from you; neither do we wish to process such data.

Sensitive personal data are data relating to your racial or ethnic origin, political opinion, religious or philosophical convictions, trade union membership, health and sexual life, and genetic data.

Therefore, if you deliberately include such sensitive personal data about yourself (or other persons) in the incoming communication and/or documents sent to us notably to apply for membership, we consider that we have received the consent to use it for the purpose of responding to your query. To the extent we consider the sensitive personal data not useful for the purpose of handling your request, we endeavor to delete such data.

The Luxembourg Arbitration Association a.s.b.l. (“LAA”) is a non-profit organisation founded in 1996, dedicated to the promotion and development of arbitration practice in Luxembourg.
