Professional Experience

Véronique Hoffeld, Avocat à la Cour, is a member of the Management Committee of Loyens & Loeff Luxembourg and heads the Litigation & Risk Management Practice Group of our Luxembourg office. She focuses on commercial law, litigation, arbitration, real estate and IP law.

Véronique has experience in advising on complex, high-value multi-jurisdictional litigation and arbitration cases, as well as on proceedings before the civil courts and arbitration tribunals. She focuses in particular on commercial disputes, as well as financial and corporate litigation.

Together with her team, Véronique has been rewarded by various high profile arbitration cases that involve interesting and partly unresolved issues inter alia related to recognition and enforcement of ICC arbitral awards.

She is listed as a Dispute Resolution Expert in Euromoney’s Benchmark Litigation 2019 directory. Véronique is the president of the board of directors of the National Research Fund (FNR) of Luxembourg

Arbitration Experience
Véronique is often involved in complex cross-border multi-jurisdictional litigation and arbitration matters.
She has extensive experience in the following legal practice areas:
• Corporate-commercial law – Véronique has a strong track record in advising and representing both national and multinational clients on commercial disputes, working closely with them to achieve a swift and effective conclusion. She handles the full range of corporate law litigation including post-acquisition claims, directors’ liability, shareholders disputes etc. as well as the full range of commercial law litigation relating e.g. to commercial contracts, liability, distribution, and unfair competition.
• Banking and finance litigation, including complex banking litigation, securities litigation and project finance related legal proceedings, in which we act for both lenders and borrowers.
• Restructurings and insolvency proceedings (for instance seizing property and assets, and enforcement of security interests) – Véronique represents creditors and/or interested buyers in high-profile restructuring and insolvency cases.
• Intellectual Property litigation – Véronique advises on all the stages in the life-cycle of intellectual property, from protection to transfer, via strategy, management, marketing and enforcing.
• Privacy law – Véronique advises companies on all privacy-related disputes.
(International) Arbitration – Véronique combines both proven expertise and knowledge to guide her clients through complex arbitration. She has experience in proceedings under the rules of most of the preeminent domestic and international arbitration institutes such as ICC. She has successfully handled many highly sensitive and complex arbitration matters.
