Biography
Educational/ Current position / Professional Experience
André PRÜM is Professor of law in at the University of Luxembourg since 2005 where he holds the Chair in Financial and Business Law and a member of the Luxembourg bar association. He served as founding Dean of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg for seven years until 2012. He also qualified as French Law professor (Professeur agrégé des Facultés de droit de France) since 1995 and holds an honorary doctorate from the University Laval, Québec-City. He is regularly invited as visiting professor, most recently by Columbia Law School in New York, the Université Laval in Québec, the European University Institute in Florence, the University of Paris I Sorbonne and the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas. He held a full professor position at the University of Lorraine, France from 1995-2005.
André Prüm’s research areas focus on European Banking and Financial law, Luxembourg and French Business Law, European Company Law and Corporate Governance, Transnational commercial law, Luxembourg and European contract law. He is the author of several books and publishes regularly on those topics in European and international legal journals. During the last twenty years, André Prüm has been strongly involved in the modernization of Luxembourg’s legal infrastructure. The government of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg requested him to prepare major reforms of Luxembourg business law.

Arbitration Experience
6 cases heard as arbitrator, 2 of which as Chair of the tribunal, in corporate law, contract law and shareholders agreement under the ICC, Luxembourg Centre of Arbitration, and ad hoc arbitration rules
Luxembourg law expert in several ICSID arbitrations and other international arbitrations in France, the UK and the US.
